Beloved BC Restaurant Chain Offers Guests New Choices with Avocado Beyond Burger™, Southwest Power Bowl and Option to Add Beyond Meat® Patty to any White Spot Burger

VANCOUVER, April 11, 2019 /CNW/ – Beloved BC restaurant chain White Spot is going above andBeyond to give its guests even more variety this spring by adding the 100%-plant-based Beyond Burger® patty to its menu of mouthwatering signature burgers and entrées beginning Monday, April 15.

Available at all full-service White Spot restaurants in BC and Alberta, the hearty four-ounce chargrilled Beyond Meat patty will be showcased in the new Avocado Beyond Burger™. The fully-composed burger features fresh avocado, pickled onions, roasted corn, crisp lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes, jalapeño ranch and edamame hummus, and is served with a choice of Caesar salad, The Spot’s salad, or creamy coleslaw and ‘endless’ signature Kennebec fries. As with all White Spot burgers, guests can also substitute fries for Zoo Sticks, Poutine, Onion Rings or Sweet Potato Fries for an additional charge.

The revolutionary Beyond Burger patty will also be featured as part of White Spot’s new Southwest Power Bowl, which features a vibrant mix of fresh avocado, cherry tomatoes, radish, roasted corn and cabbage, served with quinoa and jasmine rice with greens, jalapeño ranch and edamame hummus.

“People often ask me how White Spot continues to grow and remain relevant after being in business for over 90 years,” says White Spot President Warren Erhart. “I tell them, it’s because we’ve never taken our success for granted. We take pride in having something on our menu for everyone and our new Beyond Meat menu items are an example of how our brand continues to respond to changing demographics, taste profiles and menu trends.”

“White Spot has nearly a century of burger expertise under their belt and shares in our commitment to creating high-quality, delicious burgers,” says Beyond Meat Founder & CEO Ethan Brown. “The Beyond Burger provides the satiating taste of a traditional burger but comes with the added health and sustainability benefits of plant-based meat. We’re excited to see how White Spot brings it to life across their menu.”

In keeping with a menu that already offers gluten-friendly, vegetarian-and vegan-friendly options, both the Avocado Beyond Burger and Southwest Power Bowl can also be made vegan with modifications. Guests can also substitute the Beyond Burger patty in any of White Spot’s signature burgers for only $1.99, make it a lettuce wrap at no additional charge or substitute a gluten-free bun for only $1.

“Adding fresh avocados and more plant-based protein to our menu is exactly what our guests have been asking for,” says White Spot Vice President of Marketing & Menu Development Cathy Tostenson. “We’re excited to make this possible with our spring menu and the new Avocado Beyond Burger, the latest burger to wear White Spot’s signature pickle crown.”

Beginning Monday, May 6, the Beyond Burger patty will also be available at White Spot’s quick-service brand Triple O’sin a new Beyond Original signature burger as well as a limited-edition Mushroom Avocado Beyond Burger™.
